We are Merle and Rita Nisly. We have lived in Northwestern Ontario for more than 40 years. We love the small town of Red Lake, where we enjoy various levels of community through our neighbourhood, our church, and with many friends. We love our family, which began with us having four beautiful daughters. They each found a good husband, and in less than 20 years we are blessed with 14 loving grandkids. They all live in other communities, so it takes effort and time to get together.

We have designed our lives around our ministry calling and, as of October, 2018, have retired from full-time leadership responsibilities with Living Hope Native Ministries. http://www.lhnm.org

The early years of our ministry were at Poplar Hill First Nation, Ontario. We highly value the relationships and the incredible education we gained through the language and the perspectives of the indigenous people of this area.

I have a hobby business on the side, roasting coffee in small batches as ordered. http://www.tibaagan.com

I’m also part of a group that operates a car wash in Red Lake, which is part of my retirement income plan. http://www.goldeneaglecarwash.com

We love to travel to see our family, for our many ministry connections, and sometimes just for fun–as in birding. So far, we have visited 13 countries.
